“ I was searching for a good Luau for one of the evenings we were free. They were actually difficult to plan out because they are all on different days and many of them only once a week. I found this one for a Sunday evening and it was absolutely fantastic! The food was excellent. They also gave you an option to pay for and have your own table. I don't like sitting with people I don't know and definitely not with kids. This was important for me. Our package also included a fresh lei. They take photos when you arrive that you can buy. The show was great. This location is also a historic site. A cool touch. ”

“ This was our first Luau in Hawaii, and I can't imagine one being better than this! The experience was absolutely perfect. The Hawaiian history was beautifully told through a vibrant and easy-to-follow presentation, combining songs, dancing, and storytelling in just the right balance. The seating area, set along the ocean shore, offered a stunning view of the sunset, adding to the magic of the evening. The food was fantastic, catering to all tastes with dishes like Mahi Mahi, poke, BBQ chicken, ribs, salads, and delicious Hawaiian desserts. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks were available. Parking was a breeze with a $5 fee after validation at the hotel. From start to finish, this Luau was a flawless and memorable experience, well worth every penny. We highly recommend it, especially considering the historic significance of the site as the former residence of the Hawaiian king. ”

“ 10 STARS, if I could. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS LUAU. Authentic food and excellent cultural costumes & dances. Check in at the hotel is easy, but you definitely want to arrive early. Food was delicious. It's authentic, and all you can eat with all the Hawaiian staples like Kalua pig, lomi lomi, poke, poi and more! If you know Hawaiian food, you know their food is the real deal... not catered to tourists which is a good thing! I recommend grabbing your seat upon arrival. Leave your stuff at the table, then go to the bar and get a drink. They have a hosted standard bar, but I only went with the free Mai-Tai. While the food line is open immediately, you will want to get a good spot for the Royal Court Processional. Dinner is all you can eat, and there is plenty of it. Trust me! We ate A LOT. LOL Everything was delicious! Show was great! Musicians, dancers, MC - GREAT! Loved the fire knife dance especially. I would definitely go back to the Island Breeze Luau - so worth it! ”

“ Among the luaus available on the island we chose this one specifically because they had food tailored for kids and we had my 8 year old nephew with us. It was beautiful and the food was better than any other luau I had been to. Open bar included with our tickets. We brought our baby and got the end table towards the back where we parked our stroller and she slept soundly. I do feel the stage was small but they did the traditional dances from neighboring islands and of course the finale with the fire. Music was great and overall we had a very pleasant experience!! They take your photo which you can purchase or even download digitally. Would recommend. ”

“ Great spot at a luau. I have been to several luau's in the past and this was as good as any of them. Smaller intimate place set right on King Kamehameha headquarters. The MC was great and all the performers were outstanding. The show was entertaining and gave a lot of insight into Polynesian culture and history. Food was really good as well. I must have eaten a pound of Kahului Pork. ”

“ We bought the Ali'i package. Worth it!! You sit at your own table with your party; receive a Lei and because come in early you are able to try things w/o standing in long lines. The amount of pre-dinner entertainment was a little lacking. But they did have a traditional "bowling" game you could try called Ulu Maika. It was fun to try and you can get stamp tattoos. They did have the track Pig unveiling Kalua Pua'a. The food was delicious it is buffet style and all you can eat. The entertainment is where it is at! You are outside in their Luau Garden and the ambiance of the place was really great. They do the whole royal Parade and the dancing. The entire audience learns how to do basic hula lessons which was a lot of fun. The stories of the culture are so interesting and fun to learn about. ”

“ After looking up the different luaus in the area, Island Breeze seemed to be the best pick. Super central, easy area to get to as well as it's at the Marriot King Kamehameha hotel. We walked, but they mentioned a validated parking option as well. We did the Ali'i package, which we found was completely worth it. It was an extra $30/person, but it included front seating, expedited check-in, and a fresh lei. The front seating more than made it worth it for us - you got to feel more in the action and got great views of all the performances. Luau included a full buffet and an open bar - all included in the cost of the luau. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was - the fresh poké and Kalua pork were our two big winners. You also have to try the Poi - definitely learned people are divided on it, but it's a traditional Hawaiian food that is used to compliment food rather than eaten on its own. They also have the open bar, and they Mai Tais are delicious! They do a couple little activities before the luau starts - you can talk to some of the fire dancers and learn about their tools as well as get a temporary tattoo. If that's something you'd like, the activities only go for about 30 minutes before the start of the luau, so make sure you show up early. The show was great and so well-done. We loved all the live music and traditional dances, including the fire dances. The host of the show also told so many stories about the history of Hawaii that was fun to learn. The only downside we had to this luau was that it had to be held indoors because of the rain. Totally understand it couldn't be held in a storm outside and appreciate that they still held the luau since it was the only day we could attend one, but the ballroom it was moved into was so bland. With the amount you pay for the luau and the fact that you're now missing the ocean and general outdoor scenery, you would think they could do a bit of decorating on the inside to help bring you more into the event. (We did get lucky that the rain let up, though, so we got to see the fire dancing outside!). Overall, this is a great luau option while visiting Kona. With the only downside being the lack of indoor decorating, this is a great bet on a good weather day. ”
